Eligibility and responsibility

You must be at least eighteen years old and legally able to enter this agreement where you live. By confirming adult status, you represent that the information is truthful and that your use is not prohibited by applicable law. You are responsible for your device, internet connection, nickname, preferences, messages, links, and conduct during each chat. If you use a shared device, protect locally saved settings from unauthorized access. The service is not designed for children, and a parent or guardian cannot authorize a minor to participate. Stop using the website if you do not meet these requirements or do not agree to the current Terms.

02

How the service works

StrangersChat provides a text-only environment that attempts to connect available adults using mutual gender preferences, language choices, interests, and current availability. Matching remains partly random, and we do not guarantee a match, a specific identity, a shared interest, a location, a response, compatibility, or any minimum conversation length. Nicknames and statements are supplied by users and are not independently verified. No public account is required for the current experience, and an active conversation can end because either participant leaves, reports, closes the page session, loses connectivity, or uses the Next control. You use every conversation at your own judgment and risk.

03

Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You may not harass, threaten, exploit, discriminate, stalk, scam, impersonate, sexually pressure, expose private information, distribute malware, solicit minors, promote illegal activity, or use the service to cause harm. You may not bypass matching rules, rate limits, reporting tools, access restrictions, or technical protections; operate unauthorized bots; scrape users or messages; interfere with servers; or test vulnerabilities in a way that risks data or availability. You must follow the Community Guidelines and applicable law. If another person violates these rules, leave and report rather than retaliating, publishing their information, or escalating the exchange.

04

Your messages and limited permission

You remain responsible for the text and information you choose to send. You grant StrangersChat only the limited permission needed to transmit messages to the matched participant, maintain the live session, prevent abuse, troubleshoot delivery, and process a report you submit or receive. Ordinary conversations are not offered as permanent user-owned cloud storage, and you should not rely on the service to preserve important information. When a safety report is made, limited recent context may be retained separately for moderation, platform protection, dispute handling, or legal compliance. Do not send content you lack the right to share, and assume that another participant could copy what appears on their screen.

05

Safety actions and access restrictions

We may investigate reports, apply technical limits, refuse or remove access, preserve relevant records, or modify features when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, respond to abuse, maintain security, or comply with law. Because the service does not currently rely on a conventional public account, enforcement may use available session, connection, device, or network signals and may not always be permanent or perfectly precise. We are not required to mediate personal disagreements, disclose internal safety methods, or provide the reporting person with confidential details about another participant. Deliberately false reports, evasion, and retaliation may also lead to restrictions.

06

Availability, disclaimers, and changes

The service is provided on an as-available basis. Real-time matching and delivery can be interrupted by maintenance, internet conditions, device settings, software defects, abuse prevention, third-party infrastructure, or events outside reasonable control. To the extent permitted by applicable law, StrangersChat does not guarantee uninterrupted access, user identity, message accuracy, compatibility, or that every harmful user will be detected before contact occurs. Features and these Terms may change as the product, law, and safety needs evolve. Material updates will be reflected by the date on this page. If you do not accept an update, your remedy is to stop using the service.
